Growing The Game Here and Abroad individuals and families that make up the Wild Geese Rugby Club donate their time, passion and money to the development of youth rugby locally and globally.

Members of the club can be found coaching, sponsoring the education of young referees, serving as referees themselves or fundraising for the purchase of equipment and gear for local youth teams and our “brother” club in Richmond South Africa.

We’re passionate about getting kids of all ages engaged in the game and welcome the interest of any youth club in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area who may be interested in using our pitch – a.k.a. “the Farm” – for matches or clinics.

We love the game and love the community the game is played in and remain committed to its growth here and around the world.

HOPE In South Africa and The Annual Sundowners Charity Match

Every third Saturday in October we host the annual Sundowners in support of Hope in South Africa. Sundowners is not only a great day of rugby and comradeship, it is also a fund raiser for Hope In South Africa.

Jonathan Warner of the Wild Geese RFC joins other supporters from Rotary International in our ongoing efforts to help Hope in South Africa make a difference in the communities they reach. Sundowners will include rugby of course, music, lawn games, a large bon fire, hay rides, and the kids might even get a pony ride.  All the rugby you could want, plus hayrides, music, lots of food and beer. Kick off is at 1PM, the Geese will be playing someone, count on that.  Invite all of your friends, family, or coworkers!

A small donation is requested, either a bit of money ($30 for a family or $20 for an individual is encouraged).  Rugby gear for donation to our sister club, Richmond SA "Wild Geese", or young children's clothing and a side dish or dessert to share.
